HOW DOES A PERSONAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE SYSTEM WORK? 

Picture a common scenario whereby a senior falls or cannot move for some reason. No one is there to help, and the senior cannot get to the phone to ask for help. This situation can be fatal, and this is where a PERS solution comes into play. 

A PERS essentially comprises an emergency distress signal. The device features a small radio transmitter and a console connected to the telephone. The transmitter essentially enables the user to use the telephone without picking up the actual phone. This is all powered by an emergency response center that monitors all calls made through the device. 

A senior in the situation discussed earlier will not be stuck if they have a PERS solution. The senior will only need to press a button to make a call to the emergency response center, a loved one, or any other emergency contact in their system. 

THE IMPORTANCE AND BENEFITS OF PERS 

A personal emergency response system is important because it can (and does) save lives. A quick response can mean the difference between life and death when a senior falls, and a PERS solution enables seniors to call for help immediately after an accident. Consequently, a PERS solution can save lives, which should be enough to get one.
